Our Roots

Just after the end of prohibition in 1935, the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of Kentucky (WSWK) was established to promote the welfare of wholesale distributors of wine and distilled spirits in Kentucky and the public generally, in the interest of moderation and the responsible sale and use of those products.  A non-profit trade association, its membership consists of privately-owned companies involved in the distribution of wine and distilled spirits products throughout the Commonwealth.

Our Team

Charles George | Executive Director

Charles is the executive director of WSWK, leading advocacy and operational efforts to raise the profile of the industry and advance policies in Frankfort and Washington, D.C. A veteran policy advisor and advocate in Kentucky, Charles previously worked in government relations for the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and Kentucky Society of CPAs. He also serves on the Kentucky Society of Association Executives board and is a past president of the Jump$tart Coalition for Financial Literacy.

Charles holds a BS in biology from Centre College and a JD from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law. A native of Lebanon, Kentucky, he now resides in Louisville with his wife, Kristen, and four children, who have deepened his enjoyment of a quality cocktail. He loves spending time with family, coaching youth sports and attempting golf.

Drink of choice: Bourbon old fashioned

Holly Mullins | Executive Advisor

Holly is the executive advisor at WSWK, responsible for keeping the office up and running, managing the finances, and addressing member questions and concerns. She has over 30 years of public service experience, having worked for the University of Kentucky and Kentucky Department of Insurance, and 16 years with the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Holly holds a BS in business from the University of Maryland and an MPA from Kentucky State University. She lives in Frankfort with her husband, Ronnie, and three fur-babies, and dotes on her two children and a grandson. She enjoys swimming, gardening and other outdoor activities.

Drink of choice: Screwdriver

Janet Williams | Administrative Assistant

Janet manages the credit law database at WSWK, bringing her wealth of experience in alcohol policy to assist with member compliance issues. She retired from the Jefferson County Police Department in 1996 after 27 years of service, the last 16 of which were with the Alcohol Beverage Control office. She then dedicated 15 years to the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, retiring in 2013.

Janet lives in Louisville with her husband, Dan, who love spending time with their ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren, along with their dog, Ellie.

Drink of choice: Bourbon and Coke (hold the Coke)
